Since the end of October 2022, the Karlstorbahnhof can be found at its new location in Heidelberg's Südstadt – a former riding hall on the site of the "Campbell Barracks" formerly used by the US military. At its old location, the eponymous Karlstor at the eastern end of the old town, the Karlstorbahnhof opened its doors back in 1995, making it one of the youngest socio-cultural centers in Germany. Various event formats such as theater and cabaret, cinema, concerts, DJ events, lectures, courses and a café come together under its roof.
