The Classic Scouts were finally able to get together again in person after a long Corona-related break. Together with professional artists and with the help of apps and musical technology, they explored sound and body in space in four creative sessions.
When was the last time you consciously listened to music? What role does music play in our society? Do we need music at all? In their monthly podcast »Musik? Braucht keiner!«, the Classic Scouts invite exciting guests from arts and culture. It is important to the Scouts to look behind the scenes, to learn more about the motivation of their guests and to illuminate and discuss the many facets of music by asking one or two uncomfortable questions. Take a listen – wherever podcasts are available.
Since the founding of the Classic Scouts in 2008, several generations of music-loving adolescents have put together countless great projects and participated as creative co-thinkers, idea generators, mediators and artists. Some examples:
In 2015, the International Music Festival Heidelberger Frühling was awarded an ECHO Klassik in the category »Nachwuchsförderung« for the »Classic Scouts« project. Following the scandal surrounding rappers Kollegah and Farid Bang in spring 2018, the adolescent music educators issued a statement and launched a series of percussion workshops in schools of varying levels of education, focusing on respectful communication through the means of music.
