Talks

Around the Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival, various formats invite you to experience artists, composers and experts in conversation and gain deep insights into the programs.

In the lounges - the discourse format on the festival weekends - guests from the worlds of culture and science explored the festival theme "Back Forward" and discussed what tasks institutions such as the Konzerthaus Stadthalle should fulfill in the future.

One hour before the concert begins, the concert introduction "Notenschlüssel" offers further perspectives and background information on the programme. Following the concert, the artists' talk allows the music and the experience to resonate: In an approachable setting, the artists talk personally about their career and their individual approach to the works.

As part of the Liedfestival, baritone Thomas Hampson will give an interactive lecture on the topic of "Song as an Identitarian Force". In addition, he will discuss the results of the theme day "American Song - Heimat(en) im Lied" with Professor of Musicology Christiane Wiesenfeldt and Professor of American Culture and Literature Günter Leypoldt in the closing panel.
