Around the Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival, various formats invite you to experience artists, composers and experts in conversation and gain deep insights into the programs.

In the lounges - the discourse format on the festival weekends - guests from the worlds of culture and science will address the festival theme "Back Forward" and discuss what tasks institutions such as the Konzerthaus Stadthalle should fulfill in the future. The audience is invited to take an active part in these discussions.

A special highlight of the 2026 Musikfestival is the panel discussion "Do we need a new enlightenment?" with Alena Buyx, Michel Friedman and Igor Levit. Against the backdrop of the festival motto, the three socially engaged personalities will reflect on the role of classical music as a guide to tolerance and education in challenging times. Igor Levit will complement the discussion musically with works by Johann Caspar von Kerll and Bill Evans.

In addition, the writer Daniel Kehlmann in conversation as part of the USA Day, which Heidelberger Frühling is organizing together with the German-American Institute Heidelberg. The occasion is the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence - a moment to take a critical look at the ideals and realities of the United States.

One hour before the concert begins, the concert introduction "Notenschlüssel" offers further perspectives and background information on the programme. Following the concert, the artists' talk allows the music and the experience to resonate: In an approachable setting, the artists talk personally about their career and their individual approach to the works.
