• Retrospective

Around 47,700 visitors has come to the 141 events of the 23rd festival season. With the world premiere by the Swiss composer David Philip Hefti, the world premiere of its production »Castor&Pollux«, a German premiere, nine radio recordings, live streams with over 28,000 views worldwide and comprehensive coverage in regional, national and international media, the 2019 »Frühling« draws an excellent balance. The next Heidelberger Frühling will take place from 21 March to 25 April, 2020.

We are glad and grateful that, for a circle of patrons, the »Frühling« is reason enough to commit an amount in the double-digit millions for a comprehensive renovation of the Stadthalle Heidelberg. Take leave of the old one again in the festival of 2019 and, from the season of 2022 onwards, look forward to a new town hall, which ideally pairs its Gründerzeit charm with the demands of an outstanding concert and cultural center

Environmental protection

(16.03.19) This festival season, the Heidelberger Frühling will thank the musicians on stage with a single rose and a charitable bracelet from the startup »4Ocean«, instead of a bouquets of flowers. The company fishes half a kilo of plastic waste from the oceans per bracelet. The festival thus supports the disposal of around 150 kg of plastic waste from the world’s oceans.
