The special »frisson« created by witnessing an interpretation take shape from right up close made itself felt both on the stage and in the auditorium during the master classes. Igor Levit, artistic director, Tianwa Yang and Leonard Elschenbroich teach the most interesting and promising young musicians of their generation, selected in conjunction with a high-power network of sources: foundations, agents, competitions like TONALi, the Steinway Prizewinner Network, the culture committee of the Confederation of German Industry and other partner networks. The audience will have the opportunity to listen in on rehearsals and experience just how incredibly sensitive the interplay between technical finesse, mutual give-and-take and interpretation actually is. Listeners will experience talented young musicians making their first appearances in Heidelberg, musicians who, if the last few years are anything to go by, will carve out a place for themselves on the podiums of the world as soloists and chamber musicians. Subsequently, the grant recipients will also be figuring in the »Standpunkte« concerts.
