Usually you have to choose: either organ or piano. In this concert with Essen Cathedral organist Sebastian Küchler-Blessing and Rastatt pianist Frank Dupree, both instruments meet and complement each other. For example, in Rachmaninoff's great Paganini Rhapsody, which is actually intended for piano and orchestra, the familiar theme for the unaccompanied violin is given a sonorous makeover in 24 variations. Or in Bach's well-known F minor Concerto, which in the original also requires an orchestra for the soloist. Igor Stravinsky himself arranged his furious ballet music »Le Sacre du Printemps« for piano for four hands. By including the organ, this version clearly gains in colorfulness.

Concert without intermission (approx. 75 min)
