Streichquartettfest | Quartettsatz

"Yesterday? Today? Tomorrow? «Was the motto of the 20th Römerbad-Musiktage in Badenweiler in November 1993 - and the world premiere of Rihm's vocal and mysterious ninth string quartet fitted in perfectly. When Beethoven was composed, the form and sound of the intimate chamber music genre, which broke through the intimate chamber music genre, “Rasumowsky” quartets op. 59, were clearly assigned to “tomorrow”. Robert Schumann is more of a sensitive lyric poet in his A minor quartet. Rihm's "Selbsthenker" refers to Friedrich Nietzsche. Its Zarathustra struggled with a completely different time problem: the eternal return.
