Encouraging emerging artists to experiment and allowing them to flourish in creative safe spaces: This has always been a central goal of the Heidelberger Frühling.

The 2024 Musikfestival entrusted the Festivalcampus-Ensemble —founded in 2023—with even greater curatorial responsibility. What is a concert today—and what can it be? With the support of highly qualified coaches, 13 young musicians designed their own programmes. Johannes Brahms served as the thematic focal point of the lab project. The festival’s creative venue, Dezernat 16, became the hub of the project, where the Festivalcampus-Ensemble could be observed at work in the Brahms.LAB and presented itself through various concert formats.

In addition, his path once again led him to the districts of Heidelberg for re:start concerts with free admission.
