From hip-hop to Romantic music, from singer-songwriters to vocal ensembles: Heidelberg’s music scene is diverse and full of discoveries. To mark its 30th anniversary, the Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival 2027, in cooperation with the City of Heidelberg’s Cultural Affairs Office and Music Network, invites you to experience this diversity on stage at the Konzerthaus Stadthalle Heidelberg on Sunday, March 21, 2027. Under the title “Heidelberg Sounds,” the event will feature a full day celebrating the local music scene—with concerts in the venue’s various halls for audiences from Heidelberg and beyond.

The focus is on the unifying power of music. After all, bringing together different people, perspectives, styles, and cultures is perhaps more valuable today than ever before. Also joining us is Toni-L, a hip-hop pioneer from Heidelberg. In his segment, he blends hip-hop with classical music and guides us through the day’s program.

The focus is on the unifying power of music. After all, bringing together different people, perspectives, styles, and cultures is perhaps more valuable today than ever before. Also joining us is Toni-L, a hip-hop pioneer from Heidelberg. In his segment, he blends hip-hop with classical music and guides us through the day’s program.

Musicians and ensembles from the Heidelberg music scene are invited to participate and submit their programme proposals.

We are looking for programmes lasting 15–30 minutes, including introductions, particularly from small ensembles, groups, and individual artists who are primarily professional and freelance musicians.

New artistic approaches and unusual ensemble configurations are expressly encouraged.

Performers will be paid 200–300 € gross per person, depending on the individual scope of the performance and as agreed upon.

The submissions should bring to life how music can connect people and cultures. We’re counting on your creativity!

How can your music show that people can connect with one another? For example, through:

Musical Connections: Different Styles or Genres Within a Programme
Collaboration: with other musicians from your network—we’re happy to assist with networking if needed
Content and Message: Lyrics or musical themes about solidarity and getting along well
Intercultural or transcultural perspectives
Musical experiments that transcend the boundaries between genres or other musical worlds
Interactive elements that foster a sense of community with the audience

Applications will be accepted from August 24 through October 31, 2026, using the application form provided below.

The following information is required for your application:

a description of your program concept, as well as audio or video samples
A list of the performers, preferably including information about their musical backgrounds
Ensemble size and details regarding technical requirements
