Music connects – and overcomes borders
re:start brings music into the heart of life – as a unifying force that enables encounters, makes social diversity visible and strengthens social cohesion.
Since its premiere at the 2022 Musikfestival, which reached around 10,000 people, re:start has been an integral part of Heidelberger Frühling with its free neighborhood concerts. In 2026, the programme will enter its fourth edition.
In the year of its return to the renovated Konzerthaus, the forward-looking idea of re:start takes on special significance: the Musikfestival not only wants to return to its original location, but also grow into the city – open, accessible and close to the people.
In cooperation with social institutions, neighborhood associations, civic initiatives and other local partners, concert formats are created that respond to local needs - from dinner concerts for refugees to sleep-in concerts in student dormitories to open-air concerts on the market square. These concerts are performed by young musicians on the Festivalcampus.
Free admission
All events are free of charge. With your donation to the Fonds Zukunftsmusik – online or on site – you can support re:start and other Heidelberger Frühling projects for young talent.
