The former long weekend in Music Festival Heidelberger Frühling »Neuland.Lied« becomes an own Lied festival for the first time in June. From 11 to 15 June 2021, the Lied will be the focus of the Heidelberg stages: Staged Lied recitals, improvised Lied lectures, Lied.LABs, Lied Academy, singer-songwriters, young voices and the participatory day »Heidelberg singt!« will show what the Lied can do. The program will be published in April 2021.
Innovation needs courageous supporters who make new ideas and unusual paths possible. »Neuland.Lied« shows outstanding Lied formats that want to go off the beaten track. Classical Lied recitals with an unusual repertoire as well as experimental and multimedia forms of interpretation and presentation ask about the options for the future of the Lied. These innovative experiments are driven and realized by renowned singers of the song scene as well as by promising new talents. Unusual programs and artistic partnerships across genre make it possible to experience the Lied as a unique, contemporary and lifelike art form. Forms such as art and folk songs, rap and poetry slam are juxtaposed in all their forms and redesigned in the spirit of a song workshop.
Lieder by Schubert in an unusual arrangement. Dichterlieben by Moritz Eggert. And Ralph Vaughan William’s most unknown Lied cycle: »Along the Field«. More information & tickets »
