EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) is one of the best-known biological research laboratories in the world. The architecture of the Advanced Training Center, which was completed in 2010, has a symbolic character. Analogous to the building pattern of all life, DNA, the building is modeled on a double helix. The common floor structure in the vertical is dissolved by spirals - all rooms are lined up as a sequence of rooms. Form and function of the new science center enter into a unique symbiosis.
