Bach's Orchestral Suites

"The Akademie für Alte Musik is a collective of experts. A symbol of the progress the original sound scene has made in recent decades. Everything seems effortless, natural, self-evident." This was the verdict of Bayerischer Rundfunk on the Berlin orchestra, which was founded in 1982. In their festival concert, the exquisite musicians dedicate themselves to Johann Sebastian Bach's magnificent orchestral suites, which are among the most entertaining and at the same time most artful instrumental works of the Baroque era with their skillful blend of espritously French and concertante Italian style. They also include some of the Thomaskantor's best-known melodies, including the lively "Badiner".
