Igor Levit. Iván Fischer. Budapest Festival Orchestra
All Prokofiev Piano Concertos II

On the second day of the Prokofiev cycle, the third piano concerto is on the programme, which is still considered to be the Russian's most popular. The wildness is somewhat reduced here and the harmony is toned down, allowing the folksong-like and lyrical character to come to the fore. The Overture on Hebrew Themes, which Prokofiev composed in 1919 for a chamber music ensemble of friends and reworked for small orchestra fifteen years later, adds a melancholy klezmer tone. And another popular piece by Prokofiev will be heard: an orchestral suite from the ballet "Cinderella", which was created in the 1940s.

Notenschlüssel: Concert introduction with Anselm Cybinski and Igor Levit at 19:00 at the Heidelberg Congress Center (made possible by the Heidelberger Frühling Freundeskreis e.V.)

Can also be booked as a pass (includes all three concerts).
