Mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff is an artist who is definitely worth discovering! She won the SWR "Young Opera Stars" competition in 2022 and was awarded the Opus Klassik for her recording of Eisler's "Hollywood Songbook" in 2024. She is now giving her debut concert at the Heidelberger Frühling Liedfestival. Eickhoff regularly collaborates with pianist Elenora Pertz, whose association "Lied the Way" is dedicated to creating a strong network of women in the art song scene. The two have put together a program of modern songs with a view to the USA, which also includes works by female composers such as Alma Mahler and Hindemith student Ruth Schonthal.
