Between Heaven and Earth

At the Heidelberger Frühling Liedakademie two years ago, the baritone from Heidenheim stood out with his equally cultivated and voluminous voice - and impressed with his haunting readings of the "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen". The graduate aerospace engineer and two-time German champion in cross-country gliding is now a member of the Semperoper's young ensemble and has embarked on a promising career as a concert singer. Together with the piano partner of his former teacher Christian Gerhaher, he is now returning to Heidelberg. If it is true that songs are ultimately musical poetry, then the confrontation of verses by Eichendorff, Verlaine and Mallarmé with texts from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" should be particularly exciting...
