Jazzrausch Bigband
For Heaven's Sake

The Jazzrausch Bigband, based at the iconic Kulturkraftwerk Bergson in the west of Munich, plays instrumental techno with powerful brass instruments. For their new programme "For Heaven's Sake", they use an ingenious system with semi-transparent headphones: the electronically amplified backline such as drums, bass, keyboard or vocals is played to the audience via headphones, while the brass players can be heard in the naturally "rich" room acoustics. The wind instruments are positioned on the galleries of the Heiliggeistkirche, while visitors can wander freely around the room and perceive the changing distances from the natural sound sources. Spatial experience, natural and optimized sound, analogue and digital thus enter into a very consciously designed dialogue here, whereby the music can always be experienced physically and haptically and is extremely groovy.
