What does time do to things? How does it leave its mark—in sound, in material, in us? The LAB concert by the Festivalcampus-Ensemble explores our contemporary perception of time and relates it to the materials that surround us. From the wooden resonance chambers of historical instruments to field recordings from factories and the electronic sounds of the present. Inspired by the festival’s theme and the architecturally impressive foyer of Heidelberg Materials, the instrumentalists create an immersive experience of music and sound. The concert is directed by Lea Luka Sikau. The young media artist and director, who collaborates with luminaries such as Marina Abramović and Romeo Castellucci, is one of the most exciting pioneers bridging the fields of research, multimedia, and music theater.
