LAB of the Festivalcampus-Ensemble
Timing Materials

What does time do to things? How is it reflected - in the sound, in the material, in us? The Festivalcampus-Ensemble’s LAB concert explores our perception of time today and relates it to the materials that surround us. From the wooden resonance chambers of historical instruments to field recordings from factories and contemporary electronic sounds. Inspired by the festival motto and the architecturally imposing foyer of Heidelberg Materials, the instrumentalists create an immersive experience of music and sound. The concert is directed by Lea Luka Sikau. The young media artist and director, who works with greats such as Marina Abramovic and Romeo Castellucci, is one of the most exciting crossovers between research, multimedia and music theater.
