Lawrence Power. Simon Crawford-Phillips
Power Play

His name says it all: as one of the leading violists of our time, Lawrence Power sets strong accents for the expansion of the viola repertoire both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Together with his long-time duo partner, the versatile pianist and conductor Simon Crawford-Phillips, Power has created a programme that presents an exciting cross-section of original and arranged works for viola and piano, with a special focus on music by English composers. Thomas Adès and Mark-Anthony Turnage are two innovative contemporaries whose works Power and Crawford-Phillips have also premiered several times in other constellations.
