Thomas Hampson talks about what makes Brahms a song composer, how he treats the voice and uses the piano - and how his songs convey a profoundly humane message.

The lecture is part of the final phase of the current cohort of scholarship recipients at the Heidelberger Frühling Liedakademie. This phase also includes a listening session with Artistic Director Thomas Hampson, several public master classes, and the closing concert.
