Leonkoro Quartet

When the Leonkoro Quartet appeared at the Heidelberger Frühling Streichquartettfest in early 2022, it was hailed by the press as the festival's great discovery. According to Lotte Thaler in the FAZ at the time, the ensemble "has an enormous stage presence, glows for the music, takes full risks and amazes with its sensitivity to the respective tonality of the pieces". Here, the four musicians present the only string quartet by Dutch composer Henriëtte Bosmans, written in 1927 - a highly inspired, post-romantic work. They are joined by two famous quartets by Mendelssohn and Schubert, each of whose movements is haunted by song melodies invented by the composers themselves.
