Liedakademie
Workshop and Public Master Class 2
American Song - Home(s) in Lied

In American Song, it becomes particularly clear how songs become laboratories of belonging, participation and rootedness. Thomas Hampson works with Liedakademie scholarship holders on the basis of a curated selection of songs, while Günter Leypoldt adds political and cultural-historical dimensions to the work.

The workshop and the master class are part of the theme day "American Song - Heimat(en) im Lied", which emerged from the collaboration with the special research area "Heimat(en)" at the University of Heidelberg and opens up a space for thinking and listening in which questions of home and musical self-positioning in the USA are up for discussion.
