The final evening of the Streichquartettfest has almost achieved cult status. Here, the audience doesn’t sit in rows, but gathers together at tables in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying drinks and light refreshments. During the Long Night, all of the festival’s quartets take part and put together a surprise program that celebrates the various styles of the string quartet genre. The ensembles are invited to bring pieces that are as exotic, surprising, and perhaps even humorous as possible. If the group’s cultural background comes through in the music—all the better. Let yourself be surprised!
