Long Quartet Evening

An extraordinary evening in the concert hall with drinks and light refreshments: The Long Quartet Evening invites you to linger at your leisure, but also to wander through the music—to listen, observe, reflect, and enjoy. The five ensembles of the Streichquartettfest will present music from recent times that they have brought with them from their home countries. Whether these works shape their artistic identity or have provided them with important inspiration. Two still very new required pieces by contemporary composers will be performed—works with which the respective ensembles recently achieved success at major competitions. One of these is by the Sri Lankan-born Canadian composer Dinuk Wijeratne, who has taken on a particularly interesting theme. His “Disappearance of Lisa Gherardini” revolves around the theft of the “Mona Lisa” from the Louvre in 1911…
