"Designing is fun," says Christian Firmbach, who worked as General Director in Oldenburg for ten years before taking over the management of the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe in the fall of 2024. Firmbach sees the challenging renovation and expansion of the striking theater, which opened in 1975, as an opportunity to tackle the necessary transformation processes of the institution. Optimism, openness and accessibility, but also professionalism: these are some of the director's guiding principles.
