Playing the good old masterpieces at the highest possible level? For the most ambitious musicians born around the turn of the millennium, that alone has long since ceased to be enough. They listen intently to one another, seek to engage with the world—and in doing so, quickly develop entirely new program ideas. Nevertheless, the canonical scores still serve as a kind of cultural anchor. When the members of the Festivalcampus-Ensemble join forces with the brilliant young pianist Lukas Sternath, it is the rousing piano quintet by the Bohemian composer Antonín Dvořák that serves as the starting point for their carefully curated journey.
