Park. Ridout. Soltani. Grosvenor

Hyeyoon Park, Timothy Ridout, Kian Soltani and Benjamin Grosvenor are not only internationally sought-after soloists, but have also formed an excellent piano quartet for years - a "supergroup", as one critic called it. As a tribute to Heidelberg, the four will be performing Johannes Brahms' darkly passionate third piano quartet, which he completed in Ziegelhausen in the summer of 1875. Almost ten years later, the young Richard Strauss was inspired by it to write his only work in this genre. After meeting his fellow composer in person in Berlin in the winter of 1883/84, he wrote about his music: "I am beginning to become very friendly with Brahms, who is always interesting and very often really beautiful."
