6th Philharmonic Concert II

The mood of a lonely and lost character, landscapes of the soul cast in sound: Franz Schubert's "Winterreise" is a cycle of 24 songs for voice and piano, based on poems by Wilhelm Müller. Composed in 1827, it is considered the pinnacle of German art song. The composer Hans Zender arranged the cycle for tenor and small orchestra: premiered in Frankfurt in 1993, his interpretation sensitively and radically exposes the disturbing aspects of the original and approaches Wilhelm Müller's poems in his own unique way with a finely differentiated sound.

The concert also takes place the day before. To the Concert
