re:start

"Memory Sounds" - this title of a song cycle by György Kurtág hovers sonorously over the programme that a group from the Festivalcampus has come up with for this year's concert at the Collegium Academicum. In the esteemed re:start location with a living room atmosphere in the auditorium of the wooden building, the artists weave people's memories into the sounds of their selected pieces of music based on the festival motto "Back Forward". Different generations look together at the phenomenon of their passing lifetimes. They search for the past and the present, in stories, in pauses, in fermatas and in acceleration. Music by George Crumb, Olivier Messiaen, Maurice Ravel and György Kurtág, among others, opens up a space in which the clocks strike a different beat. A space for tracing the passing of time, the coming of time and the present moment.
