Festivalcampus-Ensemble. Dmitry Smirnov
Tutti

Free Admission

This year, the Festivalcampus-Ensemble group will once again unite in a central project to develop a programme together with a strong inspirational figure. This time it is Dmitry Smirnov, the violinist who was born in St. Petersburg in 1994 and has lived in Basel for several years, who mingles with his only slightly younger colleagues as "primus inter pares". Smirnov, who has worked intensively with interpretation gurus such as Heinz Holliger, simply has it all: Communicative approachability, musical temperament, virtuoso technique and an extraordinary sense of style trained in historical performance practice. In addition to works by Joseph Haydn and Steve Reich, George Enescu's passionate string octet is on the program.
