re:start

The CHAPEL in Heidelberg's Südstadt district was chosen well in advance by members of the Festivalcampus as the venue of choice for a self-designed re:start concert. The atmospheric former American chapel has hosted several extremely popular concert evenings, made possible by the CHAPEL Raum für Stadtkultur e. V. and the commitment of the volunteers of the Heidelberg-Südstadt district association.
This year, the young British violist Connie Pharoah will perform a very personal concert together with members of the Festivalcampus, with whom she has a long friendship. The focus is on her favorite book "To the Lighthouse" by the exceptional British writer Virginia Woolf and a work by her favorite composer Benjamin Britten. But this is not just about British culture; in Woolf's story and Britten's second string quartet, Connie Pharoah finds answers for herself to the very fundamental questions of her own existence. She shares these thoughts, figures and images with the audience in concert and invites everyone to join her in exploring what stirs the soul when the light of the lighthouse makes its rounds in the distance over the sea.
The concert will be performed twice, at 18:30 and 21:00. After the performances, there will be an opportunity to talk to the musicians.
Free admission – donations are welcome
