Soltani. Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Ollikainen

Under the direction of the young Finn Eva Ollikainen, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra has developed into an outstanding orchestra in recent years, which is celebrated above all for its interpretations of Sibelius. In addition to the melancholic Finn's most popular symphony, the programme at the Musikfestival includes the tableau "ARCHORA" by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir (*1977), commissioned by the orchestra - almost twenty minutes of natural energy with a dark, primal power of suggestion. Kian Soltani is allowed to move elegantly and gracefully through Edward Elgar's popular cello concerto, which is already known for its noble tone and controlled expressivity.
This will be followed by an artist talk with the composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir.
