Song meets exhibit
Objects of Interest

Co-curation in practice: The talented alumni of the Heidelberger Frühling Liedakademie are invited to look around the rich holdings of the Ethnological Museum and select particularly fascinating artifacts according to their taste. At 15:00 each afternoon, museum director Dr. Alban von Stockhausen will present the art and cultural-historical features while the young artists respond to them musically. Every day, a different object is to guide the interest and trigger the most exciting musical performances possible. Following the short concerts in the Garden Hall, the exhibits are brought to their destination in the museum in a stylized action and thus integrated into the presentation of the collection.

On the Move with Light Steps

In the first concert of the Objects of Interest series, the young singers and pianists explore themes of travel, setting out, and arriving. Which object inspired this programme—and how it reveals human connections across cultures—will be revealed as the concert unfolds.
