Thomas Gansch. Blasmusik Supergroup

With the Blasmusik Supergroup, Thomas Gansch has fulfilled a lifelong dream: to put together the very best band he can imagine. His brass players range from the Egerländer Musikanten and Mnozil Brass to LaBrassBanda and the Vienna Philharmonic. "The repertoire", explains the classically trained trumpeter, "is largely from the Czech Central Orchestra". Although this is essentially military music, their secret is "that we play the marches in such a way that you no longer march to them, but dance to them." At the same time, the Blasmusik Supergroup opens this field up to those Hollywood spheres in which music is inextricably linked to great stories, and yet finds its way back from this mythical and heroic world to its common, natural habitat. Because Gansch emphasizes: "Brass music is lived togetherness. It is an instrument of integration with an enormous impact and, in times of social division, an incredibly important common denominator."
