Piano trio is a constant balancing act between soloistic individuality and the fusion of the ensemble, say the three from Trio Orelon. Their Esperanto name – literally translated as “in the ear” – is the programme. The young instrumentalists from Italy, Germany and Spain, who came together at the conservatories in Cologne and Berlin in 2018, have consciously dedicated themselves to listening attentively. Since their first prize at the ARD Music Competition 2023, they have risen to the top in Europe: a trio that combines sensual sound with stylistic finesse, fresh readings of the classics with a curiosity for neglected repertoire. “Beethoven's Daughters” is the name of the trio's long-term project, which presents pioneering contributions to the genre by women, such as the magnificent D minor work by Louise Farrenc from 1844.
