Widmann. Kasai. van Dijk. Münchener Kammerorchester
It Sounded so Old and yet Was so New

Jörg Widmann, one of the greatest artistic voices of our time and a long-time friend of the Heidelberger Frühling, is coming with an all-Mozart programme! Widmann has had "boundless admiration" for the Viennese classicist since his youth. The programme includes, as he says, "seemingly familiar pieces" - the famous and much-performed last two symphonies and the Sinfonia concertante. What particularly fascinates him is the extreme emotional range, the "shift from absolute serenity to a kind of premonition of death". He forms a harmonious team with the Münchener Kammerorchester, which Jörg Widmann has led as Associated Conductor since 2022/23, and the two soloists from the orchestra.

This will be followed by an artist talk with Jörg Widmann and Anselm Cybinski in the festival center.
