The Bridges Kammerorchester is a unique orchestra in Europe. The ensemble brings together 25 musicians from 15 countries and combines Arabic, Persian and European classical music, contemporary music, Eastern European folklore as well as Central Asian and Latin American sounds. In its concert debut, the award-winning transcultural Bridges Chamber Orchestra from Frankfurt will present its new programme with soloist Wu Wei and offer the festival audience the rare opportunity to experience a 3,000-year-old tradition with the Chinese mouth organ Sheng. As "The composing orchestra", it also has numerous new original creations in its luggage – composed and arranged by musicians from its own ranks and inspired by influences from the respective countries of origin.
