Johann Sebastian Bach forms the constant fixed point of the »Standpunkte« around the theme of »Entgrenzung«: Bach, the creator of artful choral settings and pious congregational hymns, the unsurpassed master of counterpoint and harmony. In her recital, Iveta Apkalna, titular organist of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, will relate a selection of chorale arrangements by the Thomaskantor to the patterns of minimal master Philip Glass, which open up infinite depths of space.
