Trip Trip Trip
The Colombian guitar trio whose name was inspired by a fantastic character in Rafael Chaparro Madiedo’s novel “Opio en las nubes” had its debut back in 2010. The versatility of their sound as a trio and their diverse musical backgrounds have made Trip Trip Trip the focus of attention of several Colombian composers, who have written a number of pieces specially for them. Their concerts and last album “como quien oye llover”, the third one, present a wide selection of sounds that range from the dreamy atmosphere of Alejandro Zuluaga’s pieces, to the evocation of Colombian traditional music present in the oeuvre of Andres Samper; passing by the mystical, yet vigorously rhythmic nature of Damian Ponce´s music, and concluding with the endless surprises provided by the compositions of Eblis Alvarez, and Camilo Giraldo who is also a member and arranger at Trip Trip Trip.
Their albums have raised the interest of various governmental institutions devoted to culture such as the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, el Banco de la República, El Teatro Nacional, Compensar and Biblored which have awarded the trio since 2010 with cycles of concerts and the participation in the 7ª Semana de la Guitarra del Banco de la República. In 2016 were invited to the Research and Music Festival at Fontys, Tilburg (NL), and last may 2017 where invited to the showcases of the Classical:Next in De Doelen (Rotterdam).
