For five weeks, from March 14 to April 19, 2026, the Musikfestival will celebrate its return to its home venue under the motto "Back Forward": the newly renovated Stadthalle concert hall.
With a programme that combines tradition and fresh artistic perspectives, it invites the audience to rediscover the new/old venue and explore new musical paths.
Highlights include the opening weekend with Fabian Müller, Igor Levit and The Trinity Sinfonia, a three-day residency by the Swedish chamber orchestra O/Modernt, a USA Day celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence and a day of festivities in honor of Wolfgang Rihm.
Renowned artists and ensembles such as Nicolas Altstaedt, Iveta Apkalna, Avi Avital, Augustin Hadelich, Grigory Sokolov and Barbara Hannigan as well as internationally renowned orchestras such as the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Jerusalem Quartet will be guests. The young talents of the Festivalcampus will perform numerous concerts - including 15 re:start concerts in Heidelberg districts with free admission.
