Liberated time
Under the motto "Liberated Time", the 2025 edition of the festival invites you to take a break from everyday life for three weeks and experience special moments of deceleration.
A total of 82 top-class events take place in venues throughout Heidelberg, including the new Heidelberg Congress Center. A special highlight is the only German performance of all five piano concertos by Sergei Prokofiev, played by Igor Levit, accompanied by the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the direction of Iván Fischer - on three consecutive evenings.
Renowned artists such as Gabriela Montero, Rolando Villazón, Isabelle Faust, Augustin Hadelich, Lisa Batiashvili, Philippe Herreweghe, Jörg Widmann, Sarah Willis, Lukas Sternath and Veronika Eberle are expected to perform, as well as internationally renowned ensembles and orchestras, including the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Il Pomo d'Oro, the Vision String Quartet and the Cuarteto Casals.
The Festivalcampus-Ensemble, consisting of young up-and-coming musicians, will put on 16 concerts with self-curated programs, including ten re:start concerts with free admission in Heidelberg's districts. The programme is complemented by special formats for families and children, introductory talks, artist talks and lounges. The festival center in the courtyard of the New University is a vibrant hub for encounters and discussions.
Advance ticket sales begin on Monday, October 21 at 10:00
