Lachenmann. Bartók. Beethoven

Let's celebrate: This Heidelberger Frühling Streichquartettfest will be 20 years old! It is dedicated to Helmut Lachenmann, who will also be celebrating an anniversary in 2025: his 90th birthday.

The works of this great composer of our time are juxtaposed with those of Béla Bartók and Ludwig van Beethoven. With five international string quartets, plus workshops and a talk with Lachenmann himself, we will experience four days of intensive string quartet time from January 23-26. On January 22, the 7th edition of the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation competition will take place, in which young up-and-coming string quartets will present themselves musically and on stage.
