Lied Academy 2021/22
The Lied Academy of the International Song Centre Heidelberg starts a new edition in October 2021!
The International Song Centre Heidelberg awards up to 15 scholarships for the Lied Academy 2021/22 in the form of a one-year funding program under the artistic direction of Thomas Hampson. The scholarship holders have the opportunity to take part in a total of four modules at the Lied Academy in Heidelberg and Berlin free of charge. The offer includes master classes with Thomas Hampson and well-known co-lecturers in the field of song composition and interpretation. In addition, the Lied Academy offers a diverse framework program of workshops, coaching and discussion formats that deal with topics such as language coaching, content-related deepening, career management, concert programming, mental training, etc. In addition, all selected scholarship holders have the opportunity to present themselves in public master classes and concerts.
Interested viewers have the unique opportunity on October 15th to attend the public masterclasses with Thomas Hampson and this year’s scholarship holders and the subsequent workshop concert in which the young talents present what they have developed.
Information for applicants
The announcement is aimed at young singers and pianists (born 1992 or later). Separate applications for singers and pianists were. The audition as an existing lied duo can be played, but singers and pianists will be assessed separately and, if necessary, passed on. Applicants admitted to the audition will be informed by September 10, 2021 at the latest.
All accommodation, travel and course costs are covered or reimbursed as part of the scholarship; in return, the scholars agree to participate free of charge in public appearances and concerts as part of the modules.
