The youth group of the Heidelberger Frühling has been setting important impulses for years - as designers, active dialog partners and ambassadors for their generation.
Young people aged 14 and over and young adults from Heidelberg and the surrounding area who are keen on discussion and experimentation contribute their perspectives on all aspects of the Musikfestival. For this purpose, they come together for regular meetings in which they contribute ideas, exchange information and develop joint projects. With their activities they appear during the Musikfestival in front of and behind the scenes, furthermore the especially devoted listeners experience the concerts of the festival free of charge.

In their podcast series "Musik? Braucht keiner!" the Classic Scouts talk to exciting guests from the arts and culture industry and ask one or two uncomfortable questions.

On their own Instagram channel, the Classic Scouts set young topics for young people - especially when there are news about artists, Scouts projects and interesting events to report during the festival time.

Past activities
Since the founding of the Classic Scouts in 2008, several generations of music-loving young people have set up countless exciting projects; designed concert introductions and school workshops; and enriched the festival programs with their own activities. In the summer of 2023, they toured Heidelberg schools with concerts and community piano workshops. In the 2023 edition of the Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival, the group created an online listening experience, short films and an installation performance on the composer György Ligeti in the Scouting Ligeti project, becoming part of the nationwide ARD Week of Music. In 2022, the Classic Scouts played music with the Frank Dupree Trio in the workshop "Get out of the Cage", acted as moderators for the new concert series "SPRINGboard", organized a concert evening together with the pianist Hanni Liang, and were involved in the organization of children's and family concerts and the re:start district concerts.
In 2015, Heidelberger Frühling was awarded an ECHO Klassik in the category of promoting young talent for the "Classic Scouts".
