Concert and Participation Programmes for Children

Families with children and young people will find a variety of offers in the festival programmes for different age groups and for attending concerts together.

The lovingly designed programmes bring music to life in a direct way. Beyond imparting knowledge, the focus is on the children's curiosity and enjoyment of music. In specially conceived concerts with festival artists, participatory projects and selected outstanding productions, artists take their listeners into the world of their musical passions and let the sounds and rhythms unfold their power and tell stories.

Right on the opening weekend of the Musikfestival, children can get to know the young Brahms. The family concert "A Musical Gift" by the young violinist Charlotte Thiele with artists from the Festivalcampus-Ensemble tells of the ups and downs of his closest friendships.

On the second Sunday of the festival, children can discover music from many different cultures in free workshops and short performances at the big Music Day at Karlstorbahnhof. In addition, the ensemble Tiny Bridges invites you to the international concert "Liederlust und Zwischentöne". Music pieces and songs from all over the world as well as from Johannes Brahms are newly arranged and performed.

Throughout the Heidelberger Frühling Musikfestival 2024 program, there are also concerts during the day and on weekends at family-friendly times - feel free to keep an eye out. We especially recommend the moderated concert of the Joolaee Trio with a musical re-creation of European and Persian traditions.
