FEIERabend: Marie Spaemann

With the Viennese Marie Spaemann comes an unusually versatile artist to the FEIERabend, who after her classical cello studies and as a winner of the renowned International Johannes Brahms Competition already drew attention to herself in 2009. But her interests went far beyond that. Thus, on a trip to Ghana, she wrote her first original songs, expanded her skills in jazz and singing, and collaborated with exciting artists. "I enjoy keeping people awake by switching between genres," Marie Spaemann explains. Her songs strive for the resolution of a melancholy, like the lights at the end of pensiveness. Marie Spaemann focuses on cello and voice, building sonorous bridges from classical music into contemporary pop aesthetics through her accomplished playing, warmly timbrated, variable vocals and some sound effects.
