Nicola Benedetti. Paavo Järvi
Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen

For the finale, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and its long-time artistic director Paavo Järvi come as special Brahms experts to Heidelberg. They have proven to be a dream team, not least in their magical complete recording of the four symphonies. They perform the D major Violin Concerto, which is also strongly symphonic, with violinist Nicola Benedetti. The Italian-born Brit is known for her spirited presence, and with Brahms she also shares a passion for the music of the Baroque era. A clear contrast to this is the Second Symphony by the youthful Franz Schubert, which is bursting with joie de vivre.
