CHANGE OF OCCUPATION: Veronika Eberle. Paavo Järvi
CAST CHANGE: Veronika Eberle will take over the solo part in Johannes Brahms' violin concerto instead of Nicola Benedetti. The British violinist is pregnant and expecting her first child. The program remains unchanged.
For the finale, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and its long-time artistic director Paavo Järvi come as special Brahms experts to Heidelberg. They have proven to be a dream team, not least in their magical complete recording of the four symphonies. They will play the D major violin concerto, which also has a strong symphonic character, with violinist Veronika Eberle. A clear contrast to this is the Second Symphony by the youthful Franz Schubert, which is bursting with joie de vivre.

Paavo Järvi sleeps and fasts before concerts. Nothing should detract from his concentration at the podium, he says in this episode. After the performance, when the adrenaline wears off, you're hungry and want to socialize. Preferably together with his longtime friends from the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
