Opening
A song festival for everyone

Free Admission

Singing increases well-being, connects people and is fun. Singing is simply beautiful - and fortunately quite purposeless. But it brings us closer to the real thing. "To sing in truth is another breath / A breath for nothing. A blowing in God. A wind." So wrote Rainer Maria Rilke in the third of his "Sonnets to Orpheus".

Total singing is now the order of the day at the opening of the Heidelberger Frühling Liedfestival, when voices from Heidelberg and the region are heard on the Song Stage on Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in front of the Karlstorbahnhof in Südstadt, when artists and bands from different genres come together to present a program for all generations.

Serious and funny, art and entertainment, amateurs and professionals come together outdoors and invite the audience to join in and sing along. We want to celebrate the song in all its cross-cultural manifestations! Culinary delights are on offer, and after the song festival for everyone on the square, visitors are invited to enjoy Bryan Benner and his Erlkings in the Karlstorbahnhof, who will rediscover Schubert, Schumann & Co. in a folky singer-songwriter guise. And the Heidelberger Frühling Freundeskreis is celebrating their summer party on this Saturday afternoon.

16:00 - 19:30: Song stage
The colorful song scene comes together on the open-air song stage: Serious and funny, art and entertainment, amateurs and professionals.
