Opening Concert: Festivalcampus-Ensemble
Together

Thorsten Schmidt und Igor Levit fotografiert von Felix Broede

In addition to the two artistic directors Thorsten Schmidt and Igor Levit, who will open the 2023 season and welcome the concert audience, the stage of the opening concert belongs to the festival's youngest ensemble: the Festivalcampus-Ensemble, which is being formed especially for Heidelberger Frühling 2023. Is it great chamber music or is it an orchestra en miniature? At the opening evening with the young musicians of the festival campus ensemble, one merges into the other. Well-known masterpieces meet new discoveries, and not only the genre boundaries become permeable, but also the roles change constantly. Thoroughly prepared, the young participants will come together for an intensive phase of work with their instructors, creating a varied program driven by the enthusiasm of meeting like-minded people.
