Renaud Capuçon. Igor Levit
Brahms: intimate dialogue

Since their joint concert appearance at the 2021 Salzburg Festival, where Igor Levit stood in for Martha Argerich, the star pianist and French master violinist Renaud Capuçon have formed an illustrious duo. Their wonderful collaboration – which was already experiencable last year in Heidelberg – continues here with the three great violin sonatas by Brahms. These top works of chamber music are influenced by the romanticist's summer stays at Lake Wörthersee in Austria and Lake Thun in Switzerland. While the first two are rather lyrical in character and allude to Brahms songs, the last sonata is dramatic and virtuosic.
