Alban Gerhardt & Alliage Quintett

Alban Gerhardt, a regular guest at the Heidelberger Frühling, is known as a cellist who is eager to make discoveries and who can also make familiar works shine in a new light. In the concert with the Alliage Quintet, he meets a special »orchestra« consisting of saxophones and a piano. In refined, fresh arrangements, large-scale works such as Tchaikovsky's »Rococo Variations« Leonard Bernstein's »Candide« Overture or George Gershwin's »Rhapsody in Blue« are transformed into chamber music that is as full-sounding as it is rich in color.

Moderated concert with intermission
